Deputy Commissioner sought assistance of BACCO to make Chattogram a Smart District
Chattogram Deputy Commissioner has accepted the challenge thrown by Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Minister of State for ICT, as the country's first smart district in the Deputy Commissioner's Conference. That is why the district administration is working on several innovative initiatives. Chattogram Deputy Commissioner Abul Bashar Mohammad Fakhruzzaman has called on Bangladesh Association of Call Centers and Outsourcing (BACCO) authorities to train the youth of 10 educational institutions under the administration on workplace health and safety and language and psycho-cultural development to smarten up the administration's manpower to implement these initiatives.
He made this call during the policy dialogue session titled 'Fostering BPO Industry to Achieve Smart Bangladesh' which will be organized in the meeting room of Chattogram Deputy Commissioner's office on Thursday.
In the meeting moderated by the BACCO Director Ahmedul Islam Babu, Chairman of Local Market Development Sub-Committee Mridha Md. Mahfuz-ul-Haq Chayan, highlighted the ongoing initiatives, scope of work and future plans to develop the skills of the fresh graduates.
In the meeting, representatives of Divisional and District level government agencies, teachers, entrepreneurs and media workers presented their views on the BPO sector.
After listening to everyone's speech the Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Fakhruzzaman directed to prepare an annual calendar for skill development training in a coordinated meeting with Youth Directorate, Education Directorate, Women's Directorate, City Corporation and BACCO Executive Committee.
A skill development oriented seminar titled “New Horizons of Potential Workplace” also took place at the District Arts Academy at the “Divisional BPO Summit 2023.
Career counseling sessions, CV collection and job fair held in the two-day Chattogram conference which started from Wednesday morning. The annual BPO conference will be held in Dhaka on 22-23 instant.
